Captain Bio:

Captain Mike Cook has been fishing the Texas Coast for over 35 years including 12 years in the Rockport area. Mike is a USCG licensed captain as well as a licensed fishing guide by Texas Parks and Wildlife. Mike is very patient and enjoys working with anglers interested in learning the art of shallow water fishing and fly casting. He encourages catch and release but is more than happy for you to keep your legal limit. Are you up to the challenge? Captain Mike can arrange a trip for the first time fly fisher or the experienced pro.

Boat/Boats:

17' Maverick Mirage HPX Florida style flats boat. You will be amazed how shallow this boat can go and of the fish you will see in the ultra skinny water.

Engine:

70 HP Yamaha motor

Trip  Specialties:

Mike specializes in sight casting with fly rod or light tackle lures to redfish and speckled trout in the pristine flats and back bay lakes of Rockport and Aransas Pass. Silently poling the shallow water Mike will help you sight your prey, be it tailing reds or cruising reds and trout. The rest is up to you. An accurate cast and proper presentation of your fly or lure can result in heart stopping excitement. Kayak trips available as well.

What we  Provide:

Rods*, Reels*, Flies/Lures and Ice

Clean and package your catch
*You are welcome to bring your own rod & reels if you'd like.

What you need  to bring:

Appropriate clothing for the season & weather, Hat , Sunscreen , Sunglasses, Food and drinks

A valid Texas Saltwater Fishing License is required

Wading shoes/boots (Kayak trips only)

DO NOT bring bananas

PLEASE REFRAIN from wearing dark soled deck shoes
